11 Rebels is a film adaptation of the legendary script by Kasahara Kazuo, who laid the foundation for Toeis golden age with works such as Nihon Kyakuden and Jingi Naki Tatakai. Set in the final years of the Tokugawa shogunate in 1868, the story revolves around a life-and-death battle and internal conflicts of convicts forced to become a death squad to defend a fortress for a gang they despise. Initially crafted to challenge the notion of winners being righteous and losers being villains, the narrative questions whether victory alone constitutes true justice. Revived by the team behind Korou no Chi, led by producer Kii Muneyuki, director Shiraishi Kazuya, and screenwriter Ikegami Junya, this film presents a fresh take on gang confrontations in the Reiwa era. Starring renowned actors like Yamada Takayuki and Nakano Taiga, 11 Rebels promises an intense cinematic experience under the skilled direction of Kazuya Shiraishi.
